Our products
Pierburg s.r.o. focuses on innovative solutions for support systems for diesel and gasoline engines. The products are mainly designed for sub-systems, aimed at reducing emissions and controlling air intake. Pierburg is a sought-after supplier for designing technical solutions for engine innovations, especially in conjunction with new emission limits and new engine efficiency requirements.

Actuators
- In the actuator, the speed of the DC-motor is converted by means of a gear to the desired rotation of the output shaft.
- Feedback is provided by a sensor sensing shaft rotation
- The design allows the use of actuators for a wide range of products such as valves, valves, etc.

Plastic housing with integrated position sensor
- The plastic cover is part of various products manufactured in Ústí nad Labem. These are LP EGR, Actuators (EAMs) and Throttles.
- One of its functions is to watertight seal the storage space of the axle with the magnet, the DC motor and its gears.
- The second function, thanks to the mounted position sensor, which is resistive welded and fixed with potting material, is to give information about the position of the axle to the car control unit. Information is transmitted through the connector.

FTIV (Fuel Tank Isolation Valve)
- FTIV is a valve that is closed without voltage and is opened by electrical voltage based on the impulse from the control unit.
- This valve is equipped with a mechanical bypass, which serves to compensate for overpressure or negative pressure in the fuel tank.
Emission control systems

SLP — secondary air pumps
- The secondary air pump reduces emissions of harmful substances by blowing fresh air directly behind the exhaust valves. There is an additional exothermic oxidation (burning) of unburned harmful substances to carbon dioxide and water.
- The resulting heat additionally heats the catalyst, reducing the time it takes to reach the working temperature.
- The latest generation of our pump excels in speed of attack, low acoustic performance and small requirements for construction space. We still have a “classic” radial two-stage pump in our portfolio as well.

Solenoid Valve Modules
- Variable geometry of turbocharger distribution blades (VNT/VGT).
- Bypass turbocharger flap (wastegate) .Other devices such as pneumatic EGR valves or pneumatic AGR valves etc.
- Depending on the type of valve used, we can control the control pressure continuously (PWM — signal) or jump (on/off) and there is a choice of vacuum and overpressure control.

EGR module
- The EGR module consists of an EGR valve, a flue gas intercooler and optionally a bypass valve.
- The advantage of combining these components into a single whole is mainly the low demands on the building space.
- Bypass valve provides the possibility of choosing the use of the intercooler. With a cold start, the intercooler is knocked out due to the rapid heating of the engine and catalytic converter to the working temperature.

AGR — Exhaust valves
- The exhaust flap is used to increase the pressure in the exhaust system of a car to improve the efficiency of the flue gas recirculation system (EGR).
- The Pierburg exhaust flap ensures smooth control between the “closed” and “open” positions and at the same time a short response time.

Low Pressure EGR Valve
- It is used in turbocharged internal combustion engines together with a high-pressure EGR system.
- Exhaust gases are taken up to behind the turbocharger and DPF, and sent back to the compressor intake and on to the cylinders.
- The latest variants of low-pressure EGR valves follow modern trends by using plastic as the valve body material.

Throttle body
- Throttles regulate the pressure in the intake manifold depending on the need to supply exhaust gases to the engine cylinders.
- The opening position of the flap is controlled by the actuator based on information from the ECU about the position of the gas pedal.
- The latest variants of throttle bodies follow modern trends by using plastic as the flap body material.
Systems for commercial vehicles and machinery

Electric Exhaust Flap
- The electric exhaust flap is used to regulate the flow of exhaust gases. It is located behind the flue gas outlet of the turbocharger.
- When closing the flap, there is an additional load on the engine (increase in back pressure) and, accordingly, an increase in temperature in the exhaust tract.
- At the same time, the working temperature of the catalyst and the particulate filter is quickly reached. The flap is closed based on commands from the control unit.
